So Long Winter walkies

Hi bloggiepals,

before woo say So Long Winter! 

i wanted to share some last winter walkies photos.

woo see, Nordude lives right around the corner 

from the TM estate and we meet up fur

walkies all the time.

no matter how many gazillions times we've done this,

he still goes into supah coocoo excited nutty mode 

when he sees me.

well actually FAD. cuz she has cookies in

her pocket.

 but he has to get past me furst!

then we have to be sure to stop by the 

neighborhood baseball field 

to release his nutties.

nope not me.. i'm not going out there in the

knee deep snowballs.

okay this is taking entirely too long

bor- ring!

so that was a few weeks ago...

it's now in the 50s & toola hot fur me already!

time to put in a request for the AC unit installation

 in my room...

BIG MAC DIES AT 8AM PLEASE SAVE HIM

Brooklyn Center: My name is BIG MAC. My Animal ID # is A846975. 

 I am a male white and brown akita. The shelter thinks I am about 5 years old.
I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 02/04/2010 from NY 11212, 

owner surrender reason stated was STRAY. ...

 

i could feel his pain..
that was me at the NYC Animal Care Center a few years ago.

kept wondering what happened to Big MAC???

Then on facebook today, i read the GOOD NEWS!!

 he was SAVED at the last minute.

someone associated with the 

Akita Rescue of Western NY, Inc.

snagged him just in time!

 Here was the message on the ARWNY facebook page (+photo)

Once again, bless Joann D. -- she has this Akita safe in her care -- he's less than 2 yrs old, so beaten & abused that his will has been broken. If anyone can bring him around its Joann -- so Big Mac is saved....thanks to the DIMON family!!!  

See, there is hope that he can recover and

find a loving family who will luv all his akitaness:) 
from the look of the website, an adoption is pending

Meet Penny, the Schipperke [Mix]

ok, got another one for ya. meet Penny penny bo penny-- banana banna bo penny-- pee pie po pen-nie.. Penny! Julie, my massage therapist asked to interrupt my bloggie for a special Bark Out! Of course.

Ok ... it's all yours:

Hello everyone,

I am looking to find a loving home for a dog that I am fostering for the Animal Rescue League of Boston. Her name is Penny and she is a Schipperke Mix. As much as I love having her with me I am hoping to see her in her permanent home sometime soon. I wanted to branch out to my network of canine friends to see if anyone may know a good match for her.

Here are a few key highlights for Penny:

Approx. 18lbs, 4 years old, spayed female, up to date on medical/vaccinations
She loves to play and is a fun and energetic dog.
She really enjoys training and is an excellent working dog
Housebroken, crate trained, not destructive
Excellent with cats, may be reactive to certain dogs

Penny does have some special needs and needs that special home that is willing to work with her. She is fearful of strangers and needs help getting to know new people. When she is helped she does make friends quickly. We have been working with Penny with her fear and she has come a long way. I will be assisting the family that adopts her with training. Penny would not do well in a home with children.

There's gotta be a home somewhere out there! I mean, look at moi.. one minute you're living in a junkyard & the next, living the good life with chicken, bones, cookies, massages, beddy byes, a nutjob cuzin-Norwood, and the best mommie:) (sshh, she's right behind me)

So, MA's weather has been CrAzIE (ask Archie). few days it's a sizzler then it feels like a rainy, fall day... no mattah what..it's humid!..uggh. my walkies look like 30% walking, 60% hanging out, 10% treaties treats.

My tongue goes bananas after a long walkie....

Look, it can do:
the Inward Twist-- a slight curl- inward all the way around
the Wet Straight Flap-- no bend, just flapping up & down quickly with flying drool
the Forward Tuck-- opposite sides fold & almost touch... which means it's near the end of my routine. Getting tired, must lay down soon.

Coming attractions: the reverse flip with a twist (a work in progress),
